Shoulder Impingement + Bursitis

Shoulder Impingement occurs as the repetitive movement of one of the tendons of the rotator cuff against the coracoacromial arch causing inflammation of the tendons in and bursa in the shoulder. Impingement causes pain with overhead use of the arm and difficulty sleeping on the arm. Initial treatment for Impingement Syndrome is conservative treatment.

Conservative treatment includes activity modification, anti-inflammatories, physical therapy, and often an injection of steroid into the inflamed shoulder bursa.
